After many years with constant criteria for assessing the applications, we are making major changes in our policy while keeping our focus on the main goals formulated by the Donor i.e., the facilitation of international experiences for talented young scholars from Italy and Sweden.
ADAPTING OUR POLICY TO THE NEEDS
Over time, we have seen a significant increase in the applications for short-term fellowships that do not match The Foundation’s yearly application cycle. At the same time, the cap on the maximal amount of the fellowship did not fully cover the cost for long-term studies abroad.
The changes will better satisfy the applicant’s needs and in addition, the Long-Term Scholarships aim at giving the Foundation Blanceflor a more profiled participation in the academic scholarship landscape.
TWO DIFFERENT SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES
- Long-Term Scholarships for which we will provide full financing (up to 400.000 SEK/year) for up to two years. The Long-Term scholarships may only in well motivated exceptional cases be combined with other financing.
- Short-Term Scholarships, a smaller grant that will contribute to a study/ research séjour of typically 2–6 months abroad, it may be combined with other financing.
TWO YEARLY APPLICATION DATES
The Short-Term Scholarships will have two Application windows per year with deadlines 1 February and 1 September. The Long-Term Scholarship will be available once per year with deadline 1 February, at which date application for a 2nd year extension will be possible.
PRACTICAL MATTERS
There will be slightly different web forms to use when applying for either scholarship, while the supporting documents remain the same: a research programme, a letter of invitation, CV, Budget estimation and letters of recommendation among others.
